EU Policy Working Group

Are you informed of the EU policy context affecting local authorities and would you like to help shape the priorities of Climate Alliance's policy work for the good of our 2,000 member strong network with your expertise and recommendations?

An upcoming EU Policy Working Group will launch in November 2023 with the goal to provide a space for Climate Alliance members to exchange on EU-wide policy relevant issues that have an impact on local authorities. The idea is to gather input in our efforts to promote local authorities' demands towards the EU institutions' policy makers. We will initially focus on policy topics and our positioning ahead of the anticipated 2024 EU elections and ensuing five year policy cycle to address what our network will seek to influence.

The group will be for practitioners and the non-political level. Topics could cover areas like energy efficiency, energy performance of buildings, energy communities, climate adaptation or similar applicable topics depending on what is most relevant to the group in relation to the EU's future work programme and political priorities. The format will be an online meeting, regularly accompanied by Climate Alliance's director, held a couple times a year. Meeting outcomes will support our lobby work in Brussels and be fed to Climate Alliance's executive board members for further.
