Advocacy at the national level

Climate Alliance is also politically active at the national level, especially in countries with a national coordination office (Austria, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg and Switzerland). The network advocates the interests of cities and towns, calling for high ambition on climate and the inclusion of the local level in national strategies. Each national coordination office sets its own priorities, adapted to national circumstances. The Climate Alliance Germany, for example, is currently calling for climate action to be anchored as a compulsory municipal task instead of just a voluntary one.
