New report shows how cities and towns across Europe adapt to the climate crisis

The need for effective adaptation measures at local level is becoming ever greater. Cities and towns are once again at the forefront of this development and are already putting ambitious adaptation strategies into practice on the ground. The Covenant of Mayors' Policy Support Facility, in which Climate Alliance participated, has spent the last two years helping municipalities across Europe to move from planning to implementing climate adaptation measures. The final report of the Policy Support Facility has now been published.

From the city of Sétubal (PT) to the town of Fierbinti-Targ (RO), the report highlights multiple local best practice examples from across Europe and synthesizes key learning in four thematic areas: financing, just resilience, nature regeneration and disaster risk reduction.

The Policy Support Facility final report Building Resilience through Adaptation at the Local Level is now available in English online.
