Achieve more with Climate Alliance

From inspiring campaigns for your citizens and practical tools for your municipal administration to advocacy at the EU and international levels – our network has a lot to offer.

Climate Alliance is a true pioneer in climate action —over 35 years of experience in working with local and regional governments, our long tradition of cooperation with indigenous peoples, our principles and goals to which every member municipality commits itself, and the Climate Alliance Member Charter with its concrete recommendations for climate protection and adaptation are good examples of this.

The range of topics and activities related to climate action that we work on – both with and for our members – as well as our comprehensive initiatives and support for regions, cities, and towns make Climate Alliance an indispensable partner for your work on local climate action. Need more reasons to join? We have at least 10!

Ten reasons for the Climate (Alliance)

1

Don’t loose momentum: Drive climate action in your municipality with our campaigns and tools!

Are you looking for ways to involve your citizens or do you need practical support to make your climate action work easier? Our offerings are the perfect fit: get your citizens on their bicycles with CITY CYCLING, support your educational institutions with the Green Footprints campaign and win residents over on energy-efficient renovation strategies with the Energy Caravan. All this and more is possible with Climate Alliance!

2

Why pay more? Take advantage of real financial benefits with Climate Alliance membership!

Climate Alliance members enjoy free access to our conferences as well as our webinars and online events including exclusive priority registration! For those already taking advantage of our immensely popular CITY CYCLING campaign or thinking about getting on board – Climate Alliance members receive a 25% discount on the participation fee!

3

Connect, inspire, act: A network brimming with creative ideas awaits you!

While our annual Climate Alliance International Conference and General Assembly stands as the network’s most visible opportunity for exchange, we offer many other digital and face-to-face exchange formats throughout the year – be it through our working groups, in project work or with our partner organisations. With the Clibrary, our climate library of best practice, members can also discover inspiring practical examples and gain exclusive access to helpful contacts.

4

Exchange and flourish: Get involved in our working groups and take your municipality to the next level!

Get involved, help set the agenda and share ideas with like-minded people. Our working groups for members meet regularly both online and in person, promoting a vibrant thematic exchange within our network. Your experience and insights matter – share them with peers in Climate Alliance’s working groups on topics such as EU policy, adaptation and CO2 monitoring.

5

Make your dedication visible: We showcase your climate action success stories!

We place your success stories in the spotlight and present them on the (inter)national stage – be it by showcasing your practical examples in our Clibrary, in the framework of Climate Alliance’s Climate Star competition, at targeted events or in EU-wide publications. You can also highlight your commitment to climate action and increase visibility with the ‘We are Climate Alliance’ member seal.

6

Take the driver’s seat: Help us shape strong climate policy and get your voice heard!

As Climate Alliance Europe with our Brussels office as well as together with our national coordination offices, we are constantly working to improve the policy framework for municipal climate action. Contribute to Climate Alliance’s policy work at the national and European level at our annual General Assembly, via the EU Policy Working Group, in our statements, position papers and resolutions or through the work of our national coordination offices.

7

Your strategy, our expertise: Amplify the impact of your local climate action measures!

All members, whether major cities or rural towns, benefit from our more than 35 years of experience in municipal climate protection and local climate adaptation! Our action is based on this wealth of knowledge, which covers a wide range of topics – from resilience to mobility, from heat planning to energy poverty, and from building renovation to citizen participation. With the Climate Alliance Member Charter, we also provide our members with specific recommendations on climate action.

8

Unlock resources, build capacity: Benefit from funding opportunities and strong project partners!

Climate Alliance is involved in a large number of projects at the national and European level, which we carry out for and in many cases together with our members. To this end, we are regularly on the lookout for pilot cities and towns where we can jointly carry out climate protection and adaptation measures. Take a stand on global climate justice: Support rainforest protection in Amazonia with your membership!

Climate Alliance has been working closely with indigenous partners in the Amazon region for over 35 years now. Members have access to a range of opportunities that enable them to take climate responsibility, raise awareness on issues of climate justice, and even directly support indigenous communities – for example with Climate Alliance’s Funds for Amazonia, our travelling exhibitions and through climate partnerships.
