Climate Alliance Services gathers many of Climate Alliance’s practical tools and services for municipal climate action.

Climate Alliance Serives (officially: Klima-Bündnis der europäischen Städte mit indigenen Völkern der Regenwälder Services GmbH) has complemented the organisational structure of Climate Alliance since the beginning of 2023. Climate Alliance is the sole shareholder of this limited liability company, whose mission statement is based on the Climate Alliance principles: fair, nature-based, local, resource-saving and diverse.

Climate Alliance Services strengthens the networks’s long-term position as a strategic thought leader in municipal climate action. In addition, the existence of this limited liability company opens up new opportunities for income that strengthen the association financially and enable the continued development of services for Climate Alliance members.

CITY CYCLING campaign logo

CITY CYCLING

With the CITY CYCLING campaign, citizens and their municipal councils pedaling hard to send a message about the importance of promoting cycling. Working in teams, they aim to tally up as many kilometers as possible by bicycles for their municipality over a 21-day period. The campaign raises awareness among citizens and local decision-makers for cycling as a means of everyday transport.

Google Earth for municipalities

For municipalities, Google Earth can serve as critical climate strategy infrastructure. By leveraging the immense power of this and other Google resilience tools, Climate Alliance is providing member municipalities with the visual evidence and data precision needed to plan, implement and monitor effective climate strategies.

Climate Protection Planner

The Climate Protection Planner is the accounting tool for Climate Alliance members in Germany and is also used in eastern Belgium and throughout Austria. The instrument enables the creation of greenhouse gas balances in accordance with the BISKO standard, the recording of energy flows in municipalities, potential analyses, development scenarios and much more.

The ESG Cockpit is a comprehensive web-based tool for sustainability reporting and certification. It enables administrations, municipal utilities, and private companies alike to measure their compliance with sustainability and greenhouse gas emissions targets and to both plan and implement appropriate measures.

RADar!

The RADar! reporting platform is an online citizen participation and planning tool that enables local governments and citizens to work together in improving local cycling conditions. Thanks to RADar!, cyclists can alert their municipal administrations to disruptive or dangerous spots in the local cycle path system either online or directly via the CITY CYCLING app.

BIKE MONITOR

The BIKE MONITOR cycling data portal allows municipalities across Germany to easily visualise their cycling data, helping them identify where the local cycling network is performing well and where action may be needed.

Maßnahmen-Planer

The Action Planner, currently available to municipalities in Germany, is an online tool for the monitoring and management of municipal climate measures. It evaluates climate protection actions in municipalities and provides users with individual recommendations, carrying out a prioritisation of more than 350 actionable climate measures. Among other things, it can calculate greenhouse gas savings for individual steps taken on climate locally and help municipal administrations manage measures.
