Central Eastern European Municipal Summit & Pre-CAIC Session 2026
This event will bring together cities and regions that are navigating the tension between urgent climate emergencies and long-term sustainability goals, gathering municipalities, climate NGOs, and public administrators from Central and Eastern European as well as from the Baltics to connect over climate action topics and build strategic resilience. The Summit is built on the following thematic areas for the exchange and collaboration:
- Evidence-based climate resilience – Being aware to be better prepared: Using scientific analysis of climate forecasts for climate action strategic planning and funding.
- Low-cost yet impactful measures: Local infrastructural projects in combination with strategic awareness campaigns.
- How do municipalities use direct funding and other support: Peer exchange on funding opportunities.
Join your peers and learn about regional climate risks, see concrete examples of high-impact measures, gain valuable connections across the region, and delve into actionable strategies to turn short-term crisis response into long-term resilience. This summit is a step toward building a strong, mutual supportive framework for positive change toward climate neutrality across Central and Eastern Europe as well as the Baltic region.
