Online Hub
Energy efficiency campaigns for simple energy saving!

Welcome to the SaveEnergyTogether Online Hub!

We support decision-makers to promote behaviour change in households to save energy and thus reduce CO2 emissions to fight climate change.

Let's save energy together!

How it works

Two types of Campaign Implementation Groups (=CIGs) implement communication campaigns for citizens to save energy with simple interventions. Local or regional groups (10 CIGs) work together to address people within their direct outreach and are run by municipalities, NGOs and small businesses (AT, DE). Nationwide approach is used to form a central CIG with stakeholders and partners are acting on an over-regional (PT, LT, SI) scale. Their experiences and lessons learned can be explored here.

CIG activities and resources can be visited through the Hubs.Municipality resources and good practices as well as citizen tipps to save energy can be viewed here.

SaveEnergyTogether equips municipalities with a toolbox to promote energy saving, analyse the potential of the different measures and select the best approach according to the needs of the local context.

Based on the lessons learned of the implemented campaigns, a Cost-Benefit Analysis Calculation (CBA) tool will help municipalities to calculate the costs and benefits of the small Energy Efficiency Interventions. Municipalities can use this tool to compare planned measures and choose the most cost-effective solution.

The SaveEnergyHubs

Would you like to engage with each other? SaveEnergyTogether has 5 national hubs. Each of them have a specific campaign plan based on the national/local and regional context and needs.

What SaveEnergyTogether does

We support decision-makers to promote behaviour change in households to save energy and thus reduce CO2 emissions to fight climate change. As a main activity, we are implementing communication campaigns to motivate citizens to implement simple energy saving measures. We work with working groups (consisting of e.g. NGOs, municipalities, etc.) in Germany, Austria and Portugal at local and regional level. In Slovenia and Lithuania, we implement campaigns at over-regional and national level.

SaveEnergyTogether will also provide a tool for municipalities and other decision makers to help assess the potentials and costs of different energy saving measures. This empowers them to select the most appropriate measures for their local context and to promote energy saving. The team develops new procedures, best practices, updated cost-benefit methodologies, and monitoring systems for simple energy efficiency actions for households, small businesses, and building owners. Our resources help national and local decision-makers implement campaigns efficiently and to achieve annual savings of 100 GWh of primary energy, 23,200 tons of CO2 reductions.
