How local authorities are shaping Europe’s response to energy poverty

15 October 2026, Brussels (BE)

Closed-door policy round table with European Commission Officials

The Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH), coordinated by Climate Alliance, together with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy (DG ENER), will host this policy round table as part of the EU Covenant of Mayors Ceremony 2026.

The discussion will bring together local and regional authorities and European Commission officials to exchange practical experience on renovation, clean heating and cooling, electrification, and Social Climate Plans. Participants will explore what is working, where barriers remain, and how EU policy, funding, and technical support can better respond to local needs. The event will also build on the Brussels Climate Week Energy Day Leadership Debate of 13 October.

Participation is limited to around 25 selected participants to ensure a balanced mix of regions and experiences. Interested local and regional authorities are invited to express their interest and indicate whether they are already planning to travel to Brussels that week. A limited number of travel reimbursements may be available, but cannot be guaranteed.

Express your interest by emailing info@energypoverty.eu!
