Exploring business models for one-stop shops
19 & 26 February 2026 | Online
EU Peers Living Lab
Learn how different business models shape the operation, scalability, and long-term viability of One-Stop Shops (OSS) for home renovation. This learning lab provides a structured and practice-oriented exploration of public, private, and hybrid OSS models across Europe, helping participants understand how organisational choices influence service delivery, financial sustainability, and customer experience.
19 February, 10:00–11:30 (CET) – Public OSS models and scaling through networks
This first session focuses on public One-Stop Shop models, with particular attention to their role in ensuring accessibility, trust, and territorial coverage. Participants will explore how public OSS are structured, governed, and funded, and how these models can be scaled beyond a single local entity through regional or national networks.
The session will examine how larger operational frameworks and shared structures can enable the creation and coordination of multiple OSS, while maintaining service quality and economic sustainability. Through concrete examples, participants will reflect on governance arrangements, funding flows, and the practical challenges of operating OSS at scale.
26 February, 10:00–11:30 (CET) – Private and hybrid OSS business models
The second session shifts the focus to private and hybrid OSS models, analysing how market-driven and mixed approaches address financial sustainability, risk-sharing, and service limitations. Participants will explore how these models balance commercial viability with public policy objectives and customer needs.
The session will compare fully private OSS models with hybrid structures that combine public support and private delivery, examining funding sources, governance arrangements, and long-term viability strategies. Particular attention will be given to understanding under which conditions these models can be replicated or adapted.
