EU Climate Pact honoured for excellent citizen participation
Climate Pact wins two awards at the EU Ombudsman Awards
The EU Climate Pact team received two awards at the EU Ombudsman Awards: the EU Ombudsman presented the award for “Excellence in Citizen and Civil Society Participation”, and the team also won the Public Vote award.
The EU Ombudsman Awards recognise EU projects that demonstrate good administrative practice and have a positive impact on the lives of people in the EU. The Climate Pact impressed the judges with its ability to bring people together and motivate communities to drive forward climate action at a local level. As part of the Secretariat of the EU Climate Pact, Climate Alliance plays a key role in shaping this EU initiative.
The Climate Pact now comprises almost 1,200 Climate Pact ambassadors and more than 100 partner organisations from across Europe. Through numerous local events and activities, the initiative demonstrates that thousands of people are already working together to advance climate action in Europe and can inspire others to follow their example.
