URBREATH

Tackling climate change with nature based solutions and digital innovation

URBREATH aims to revitalize cities with nature and the help of digital twins.

The URBREATH method is based on community and stakeholder participation focusing on greening and renaturing issues. This process will be supported by advanced technologies that the project will further develop and test. In fact, the project will use techniques such as local digital twins and artificial intelligence, and social innovation to achieve its vision.

The Living Lab methodology applied follows the individual cities timeline to implement their nature-based solutions. The following questions will help guide this process: How can the cities easier involve citizens in the ideation process and how could digital twins play a role in evaluating the actual impact of the suggested solutions?

How could tools play a role in assessing the specific climate risks of the chosen pilot area? The outcome of the project will be a methodology for cities to include digital twins in their resilience work, as well as inspiring examples of revitalised urban areas.

URBREATH

Within the project, Climate Alliance is supporting cities in four different climatic zones to develop nature-based solutions. Our role is to enhance the voice of the cities and to make sure that the digital tools that we develop within the project really add value instead of becoming another strain on their capacity.
