AI Transparency
Artificial intelligence and Climate Alliance
Our use of artifical intelligence
The use of artificial intelligence (AI) brings opportunities, but also carries risks. Climate Alliance uses AI in a considered and transparent manner. We use AI where it can provide useful support in the development, design and preparation of content. We view it as a tool, for example in developing ideas and structuring texts, revising language, producing summaries and translations, or designing graphics and visual elements.
AI is not a substitute for human responsibility. At Climate Alliance, real people make decisions regarding content and editorial matters.
Labelling under EU law
Irrespective of this general information, we provide AI labelling where necessary and as required by law in accordance with Article 50 of the AI Act, in particular for certain AI-generated or manipulated content.
Our principles
- Responsibility carried by real people. All published content that we create or edit using AI is checked by our staff. We pay particular attention to factual accuracy, copyright, personal rights and data protection. We take responsibility for the content we publish.
- Targeted use with real added value. AI applications consume energy and resources. We thus make use of AI tools specifically when they can offer genuine added value.
- Taking a critical look at bias. AI systems can internalise biases and stereotypes from their training data, thereby disadvantaging certain groups or regions. We critically examine AI results with a view to potential bias.
- Data protection as a priority. We refrain from entereing any personal data, copyright-protected material or confidential information into AI tools.
- Internal capacity building. We constantly develop our AI skills and update internal guidelines to keep pace with this rapidly changing technology.
