New tool supports the planning of household energy saving campaigns
How much energy could a local campaign save, which measures are most suitable, and do the expected benefits outweigh the costs?
The new SaveEnergyTogether Cost Benefit Analysis Tool helps municipalities, energy agencies and other local and regional actors plan and assess household energy-saving campaigns. It estimates the potential impact of campaigns that promote simple, cost-effective, behaviour-driven measures. Users can enter planned outreach, campaign format, estimated costs, regional or national household and energy data and choose from a range of simple energy saving measures.
The tool delivers indicative results at household and campaign level categories such as final energy savings, household energy cost savings, avoided greenhouse gas and air pollutant emissions, and wider social benefits. The scenario-based results support campaign design, comparison of possible measures and communication with local stakeholders. It also shows whether the estimated benefits outweigh the campaign costs and household investments. Results are scenario-based estimates and do not replace a detailed technical assessment.
The tools alongside a user guide is available for download.
