New training platform: fighting energy poverty among people with disabilities
The new ASSERT Training Platform is here!
Climate Alliance is part of the ASSERT project, working towards empowering municipalities to deliver stronger, smarter, and more inclusive responses to energy poverty among people with disabilities. Across Europe, people with disabilities face higher risks of energy poverty, while municipal services often struggle with fragmented or ad‑hoc solutions. ASSERT changes this. It gives local authorities the tools to move from reactive support to coordinated action.
The new training offers:
- Modules covering disability, energy poverty, disability‑inclusive communication, and renewable energy options for domestic use.
- Accessible, user‑friendly learning resources available in six languages (English, Italian, Greek, French, Spanish and Catalan).
- A certificate of completion to strengthen staff expertise and recognition.
Why this matters for your municipality:
- Boosts staff capacity across the social, housing, health, and energy sector.
- Improves coordination between municipal services.
- Builds inclusive policies that ensure no one is left behind in the energy transition.
- Enhances your ability to identify and support households experiencing energy poverty – especially people with disabilities.
