Franco-German exchange for a local sustainable transformation

Climate change and the energy transition are high on the agenda of German and French municipalities.

As part of the Franco-German initiative, Climate Alliance has been offering municipalities in both countries the unique opportunity since 2013 to work together to bring about positive change in municipal climate and energy policy through dialogue and the establishment of climate partnerships.

As part of the TANDEM Initiative 2022 – 2025, Climate Alliance continues to focus on French and German dialogue at municipal level and places this in a European context. The previous focus on the energy transition will be expanded to include sustainable transformation in municipalities.

TANDEM remains an important contact point for the development, monitoring and evaluation of climate partnerships and offers support services for the implementation of climate protection goals thanks to a Franco-German professional exchange in the form of online seminars, annual workshops and study trips.
