Key Objectives

1. Development and validation of a bottom-up methodology to co-create clean energy plans and financing instruments to promote Ukrainian cities’ clean energy reconstruction.
2. Development and validation of novel financing tools for cities’ clean energy reconstruction driven by energy modelling activities and financing stakeholders’ insights.
3. Promote project replication results in further 10 Ukranian and 10 EU cities via the ANEW-LIFE catalogue and dedicated stakeholders’ activities (training, workshops etc.) also in collaboration with relevant EU Initiatives.
4. Assessment of the ANEW-LIFE long term sustainability, replicability and sustainability.

Project Impact

ANEW-LIFE is making a real impact on Ukraine’s energy landscape. This project serves as an inspiration for future sustainable energy efforts in Ukraine and across the EU. Through an extensive project validation campaign of energy modelling tools, a co-creation approach and financing schemes in its three lighthouse cities (Zhytomyr, Kalush and Nizhyn), ANEW-LIFE will harness the project’s outcomes to not only understand their implications but also to develop a strategy for promoting the project concept beyond the project’s completion. A key aspect of this promotion involves the development of a replicability strategy, applicable both in Ukraine and across the EU.
