From plans to practice: Building local heat resilience

Heatwaves are increasing – so is the need for effective, community-rooted action.

In this event, participants will learn how cities are adapting now and shaping a heat-resilient future. Join us for a dynamic 90-minute event exploring how municipalities across Europe are turning Heat & Health Action Plans into real, on-the-ground solutions.

Organised by Ready4Heat (Interreg Central) with invited contributions from CoolCities (Interreg North Sea), this session brings together cities from Central and Northern Europe to showcase innovative communication strategies, green cooling solutions, and networks of cool spots and routes that protect residents during extreme heat. The event is addressing municipal officers, local health authorities, urban planners, social service providers, and stakeholders working on – or inspired by – heat resilience.

What to expect:

  • Practical insights from municipalities of both projects
  • Real examples of local coordination, citizen engagement & community awareness
  • Approaches to green cooling investments and creating cool routes
  • Interactive panel discussions and Q&A with project partners
