The paper “Energy Efficiency Delivers: Turning Policy Into Impact” highlights 16 success stories which are the direct or indirect result of the existing energy efficiency legal framework, in particular the Energy Efficiency Directive, and which are delivering benefits across 3 priority areas: Energy cost and competitiveness, a just and affordable transition and a resilient, secure, and integrated energy system.

In addition, the publication outlines concrete policy recommendations for the EU to continue driving energy efficiency action and enjoy its full benefits. The key recommendations include:

1. First, the EU must redouble its efforts to ensure that implementation of the current energy efficiency legislative framework is prioritised and follows its course;
2. Second, it must build on the existing framework when shaping rules for the next decade;
3. Third, it must ensure the predictability and stability of the regulatory framework to ensure stakeholders have the certainty they need to continue investing in energy efficiency.

Climate Alliance supported the development of the publication as part of the Coalition for Energy Savings advocacy group. The European coalition promotes energy efficiency as a driving force for sustainable transformation.
