Energy poverty: Strategies to reach out to energy challenged consumers
26 February 2026, 11:30 - 12:45, Online
This event will explore how energy poverty is being addressed at EU and national level.
First, an analysis using the ODYSSEE and MURE databases will provide an overview of indicators and policy measures relevant to energy poverty. This will be complemented with an overview of the EU policy framework and the role of the Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH) in supporting local authorities through data tools, capacity building and policy guidance.
Then, the event will focus on the case of Portugal, outlining the national approach to energy poverty, including its long-term plan, key measures and evaluation mechanisms. It will also highlight the work of the National Energy Poverty Observatory and its contribution to policy creation and monitoring.
Finally, the Braga pilot done in the LIFE project SaveEnergy Together will showcase simple energy efficiency interventions for vulnerable households.
