Climate Alliance International Conference 2026
28 – 30 September 2026
Brussels (BE)
Local climate action delivers: Stronger together for Europe
Europe is standing at a governance crossroads. While political strategies are increasingly placing national interests front and centre, there is a mounting risk of local perspectives being sidelined. Yet it is Europe’s subnational level – its regions, cities and towns – that are the most effective actors in the climate crisis, for it is here that climate action is shaped and implemented. One thing is certain: the climate transition is not a task that can be tackled alone.
This year’s Climate Alliance International Conference (CAIC26) will bring local and European level stakeholders together with a clear aim: to highlight what makes local climate action successful. The answer lies in exchange and cooperation between policy and practice as well as between local authorities themselves, united within a strong network. Together, we will develop solutions that make our regions, cities and towns more liveable because climate action is more than just an environmental goal. It strengthens economic resilience, ensures geopolitical stability and fosters social justice!
From 28 to 30 September, CAIC26 will demonstrate that collective action can take us further than any individual measure. Through dialogue with EU representatives, we will make it clear that local government is ready. We must now ensure that political frameworks support local action! Practical workshops, lively discussions and fresh ideas for future collaboration will make the conference a platform for real progress. Come to Brussels, share your perspective and take home new energy and inspiration for your municipality.
