2025 EU Covenant of Mayors Ceremony
The 2025 EU Covenant of Mayors Ceremony will bring together local and regional leaders, EU policymakers, and climate stakeholders to underline the pivotal role of municipalities in securing a climate-resilient and sustainable future for Europe. Taking place at the European Parliament in Brussels, the event will highlight how cities and towns across Europe are contributing to the EU’s climate neutrality and energy transition goals.
This year’s ceremony will also celebrate local achievements through the Covenant of Mayors Award, recognising cities that are taking exemplary action in the field of sustainable heating and cooling. High-level speakers, including the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen as well as Vice President Raffaele Fitto and the President of the European Committee of the Regions, Kata Tüttő, will share perspectives on the future of climate and energy policies, and the importance of local engagement.
Bringing together mayors, regional leaders, and key EU decision-makers at the European Parliament, the event on 16 October 2025 will give momentum to Europe’s shared agenda for the years ahead. A promising event with a stellar line-up of speakers, not to be missed.
