New EEA report “Urban adaptation in Europe” now out!
The European Environment Agency's report "Urban adaptation in Europe", published today, takes stock of urban climate adaptation in Europe. With most people in Europe living in urban areas, cities play a key role in protecting citizens and improving resilience to the increasing impacts of the climate crisis.
The new report highlights which measures cities are already taking in response to increasing climate risks and which activities are proving successful in practice. These include political and institutional measures, economic incentives, nature-based solutions and urban agriculture as well as measures for behavioural change.
Climate Alliance coordinated the development of the report on behalf of the European Topic Centre for Climate Adaptation and is also one of the main authors of the report. The report is now available in English.
