International Conference on Energy Poverty in Europe

Neighbourhood approaches as the key to combating energy poverty

With the support of Climate Alliance, the City of Brest is inviting municipalities and other interested parties from all over Europe to a two-day conference on energy poverty within the framework of the European-wide Climate Active Neighbourhoods (CAN) project. The initiative deals with the energy retrofitting of socially disadvantaged districts and motivates residents to get directly involved. At the event, high-level representatives will discuss the framework conditions for combating energy poverty at the European, national and local level while local grassroots initiatives from Switzerland, the Netherlands and other European countries will be presented. The conference will also take an in-depth look at the links between energy poverty and health and participants can of course also look forward to exciting excursions.
