Pratical information

The 2021 Climate Alliance International Conference will take place in Wels (AT) and online. You can experience the CAIC 2021 digitally via the Hopin conference platform. Our General Assembly (GA) will also take place on this platform. All voting during the General Assembly will take place in parallel via a separate tool (Votebox).

  • Location onsite: Minoriten, Minoritenplatz 4, 4600 Wels
  • Location online: the Hopin platform*
    * access provided to registered guests via email

Registered participants will receive comprehensive information and guidelines on how to use the platform and associated tools prior to the event.

General recommendations for your participation online

  • Test the functionality of your devices and software early.
  • Ensure that you have a stable internet connection. If your Wi-Fi connection is weak, consider using a LAN cable.
  • Use a headset or alternatively devices with audio output and input. A webcam would be helpful, but is not a prerequisite.
  • Update your browser.
  • Contemplate using a second screen or mobile phone in addition to your computer, as the online voting is also internet-based.

Green Event details onsite

The aim is to organise the event in accordance with the criteria of the Austrian Eco-label for Green Meetings and Events. In the interest of reducing waste, we therefore ask that you not bring any single-use materials, especially PET bottles, beverage cans or other disposable products, with you to the location.

We also encourage you to travel in an environmentally friendly manner. If you arrive by public transport, electric vehicle, carpool or bicycle, a little surprise awaits you! Here are some tips:

  • Wels is very easy to reach by train. You can book your train journey directly with the Austrian Federal Railway (ÖBB) online or via telephone at +43 (0)5 1717
  • You can find carpooling offers, for example, at www.blablacar.co.uk
  • The Minoritenkloster venue is located right next to the Stadtplatz and is therefore very easy to reach by public transport. Timetables are available at www.ooevv.at. The stop "Wels-Kaizer-Joseph-Platz" is a 7-minute walk from the "Minoritengasse".
  • Bike racks are located at the entrance (Minoritenplatz) and an e-charging station can be found at "Stadtplatz Ost" (address: Stadtplatz 18).

Enabling travel for those with disabilities and limited mobility is important to Climate Alliance. Contact us if you need help getting from the train station to the event location.
