Franco-German exchange for local sustainable transition
Climate change and the energy transition are high on the agenda of many German and French municipalities. Climate Alliance provides thanks the TANDEM initiative local authorities from both countries the unique opportunity to jointly drive positive change in local climate and energy policy through exchange and the creation of climate action partnerships since 2013.
Within the framework of the TANDEM Initiative 2022-24, Climate Alliance continues to promote the French and German exchange at the municipal level and integrates it into a European context. The previous focus on energy transition will be expanded to sustainable transition in municipalities. TANDEM remains an important contact point for the development, monitoring and evaluation of climate partnerships. The TANDEM team offers support for the implementation of climate protection goals thanks to a Franco-German technical exchange via online seminars, annual workshop as well as study tour.
Project funding period: April 2022 – April 2024
via the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and the French Energy Agency ADEME. In cooperation with the European city network Energy Cities.
