Three years on from the signing of the Paris Agreement, the parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change will meet in Katowice, Poland. There they will carry out the first global stocktaking of how the national commitments made thus far match up to the globally agreed goals limiting global warming to signficantly less than two degrees. Regions, cities and towns the world over have a large role to play in closing the gap between national level pledges and necessary action.
COP24 is sure to be a show of numbers on emissions reductions. Climate Alliance is poised to show what its members are contributing in terms of CO2 as well as why it is so essential to go beyond the numbers and maintain a broader perspective on climate action.
