Making Cities in Ukraine "fit for the Covenant"Climate Alliance and Association of Energy Efficient Cities of Ukraine launch joint project |
8 February 2010 marked the start of a new project to support cities in Ukraine, signatories of the Covenant of Mayors (http://www.eumayors.eu/), in fulfilling their commitments in the framework of this EU initiative. A three-day-workshop in Lviv, Ukraine brought together mayors and energy managers from 18 Ukrainian and 3 German Cities, providing the opportunity for a first exchange of experiences and to agree on the next steps. Climate Alliance and the Association of Energy Efficient Cities of the Ukraine (AEEC), both also in their function as Supporting Structures of the Covenant of Mayors, have jointly developed this project, funded by Germany’s International Climate Initiative. During the next two years, Climate Alliance will assist the AEEC in adapting and providing its approved methodologies and tools for the Ukraine.
